The reason Anubis is jet black is because natron did that to the skin in mummification. And Anubis guards the dead going into the afterlife. So perhaps instead of horse sense we should say Horse Cabala: the Greek Hermetics of combining the exoteric and esoteric. This is why natron is considered one of the four major arcana, or secrets. Words can hide or reveal. In terms of the inner dialogue this chatter largely hides the deeper voice. The question ‘chakam?’ in kabbalah asks who is wise. Wisdom is of the collective mind whose entire voice carries the Word of God. Days three hundred and nine through three hundred and twelve listen to every experience as a teaching, good or bad.
