39.♆מThe Donkey🜫; Introspection. Mem Path. Neptune Orb past the God Point above MRKBH. The first striking thing about this card is there is no donkey. There actually is a couple on the mountain in the distant view. But many alchemists dealt with the more troubling aspects of antimony than the tamed antimony of the donkey, like the wolf, or the black dragon. The French pun for antimony is the Donkey’s cross back, ane timon. Antimony was forever exploding or poisoning someone. Antimony is commonly referred to as the wolf; and it suggests the wild nature of antimony which much be tamed, becoming eventually the beloved dog of the Fool or French follis which is a pun of the word for puffer, a diminutive name for the athanor feeding alchemists, who felt they showed greatness through humility. Basil Valentine coined antimoine, or the anti-monk, after testing the stuff on monks in his monastery, causing violent reactions. This division between the Microprosopus and the Macroprosopus happens at the Donkey, our alchemical Hanged Man. Days one hundred sixty seven through one hundred seventy one eliminate your most volatile and untamed waste of time.
Note: On the card, this gryphon wolf demon has batwings. For the record, bats are awesome. They get a bad rap. Its OVLP the Bat Kerub who first showed me the Watchtower of Light© and for the Watchtower Temple of God©. I copyright key ideas not to hide keep you from using them; but to make sure they are used right, with no incorrect versions, while I am alive. Anyway, she appears as a bat; but sometimes just a fun silly blonde with really deep soundbites she emphasizes that I may have heard but didn't really grok. She had asked me specifically not to depict demons with bat wings. a trope, of which this kerub of God, over the holy things that bats can represent, is not a fan. But, that seemed to happen anyway, and when things go wrong it shines a light on righting it. So for OVLP, give a bat a break. I used climb my local Kroger's to sit on the roof while hundreds of bats circled about me peacefully, never disturbing me. Earth is a living library. And each animal is a book.
