27. ♑ע Fermentation🝖⚸The Devil. Fermentation rebuilds the Golden Man. Alchemists believed that alcohol had literal spirits. It’s fermentation of the physical body that releases spirit; as a candle does a flame. In order to release the spirit we must give this corruption its day. The Ayin ע Path represents the Eye. With this path also goes the mysterious English O: the circle of ecstasy and revelation. On the other side of the fermentation process the spirit of the substance is procured. Similarly we need to look under our escapist or self-destructive tendencies for the spirit of what we seek underneath; the revelation and ecstasy of the tincture base to put our healing salts. If we can ferment the corruptible things we may see the virtue of what exists underneath. For five days, do not escape with desire or fantasy; do not demure from fear: cowboy up and ferment the real into the greater revelation.
